The Starjump assessment identifies strengths to focus on and deficits to develop. Having problems paying attention in class. The Starjump consultant meets the parent and kid either online or in person to conduct the 1.5 hour assessment. A comprehensive report for the classroom teacher. Referral letters to specialists outlining all the concerning traits identified during the assessment. Strengths, conditions and disorders that negatively affects a child's social, emotional or psychological development or impairs their aptitude to learn with ease are screened for in the Starjump assessment. Defining the problem is the first step to smart how to support your child. These children are often not identified at school and suffer grave lengthy term social, emotional and educational problems. Feel reassured and supported by the process. Avoid developing negative feelings from being over assessed. Receive specific reports for the parent and the classroom teacher with information and strategies. Be provided with a referral letter to any specialist or professional service that the child needs. Avoids or struggles with reading, writing or spelling. Has trouble concentrating when writing or listening. Two reports are provided for each child assessed. One for the classroom teacher and one for the parent. The report outlines very clearly why the child is having problems and shows you what you need to do to help the child. She was based at Education North which was a center where literacy programs were being researched and developed for use in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island schools. Maxine now provides an online service to assess and urge students and their parents from all over Australia.
