A group of young men met at the back of the Hampton Methodist Hall to see if they could form a football club and after having this request taken to the Minister, the teams wish was granted. The club continues to guard its hardworking approach to providing a gracious and enjoyable club for all that are involved. The netball club continued to grow and the importance of the Saturday afternoon netball game was paramount with the Senior Footballers. 2015 saw a temporary of the uphold with a new coach in Jess Murphy and the loss of a number of girls. Nevertheless, the club pushed forward with its team but deficit of numbers by season end saw the team complete the season with 3 wins. Millie Billings joined the team in late 2016 with Cassandra Hughes as Captain. The year got off to a drastic begin with virtually a brand fresh team, the ladies took some time to get going but finally got their first (and only) triumph for the year with a gutsy 8 goal win in Round 8. That was the only win the ladies for the 2016 season tasted with a total of 8 games lost by4 goals in a very frustrating but enjoyable year for the fresh look team. Cassandra Hughes also scored a record 32’ goals in a single game for the team which was one of the highlights for the year! The Hampton Hammers Football Netball Club appointed Joe Feruccio for Season 2017 which looks like the biggest year in the clubs history with two teams to headline for the club in the DNA competition. The club will look to remain to grow and enlarge further as the years progress.

The beginning time in the Clubs history it won both Senior Reserves Premierships, Sincere Rugolo kicked over 100 goals and Hampton Football Club won Football Victoria Inaugural Club Achievement Award Ideal conditions greeted both sides as they run out for the huge game and after a lengthy Ore game warm up, it was the Hampton, which started strongly and jumped out to premature lead. We finished second on the ladder at the completion of the home and away season, however injuries to key players such as our captain coach Shane Edmund seen us go out in the preliminary final. President, supporter and appropriate bloke, Leon Bailey, Paul Housden, Graeme Stillwell, Mick Bennett and many other people who also unselfishly gave their time and efforts to ensuring that Hampton United was the best club in the competition. I, along with every person that played, thank you most sincerely and assure you that it was appreciated very much. 1983 Runner Up that year saw us in A Grade the following year and suddenly we started to believe that we could match it with any side. 1982 saws the arrival of Kevin Maguire who was capable to build on Alan bottom and with some help from some good recruits (who were outgoing that if they didn sign their houses would be burnt down) Hampton was suddenly a team that could beat you on the scoreboard as healthy as anything else. Behind the home away games were completed, both the seniors and reserves had finished on top. It did however form accessible ties between the two clubs, and for many seasons to arrive players from both sides would get together for a drink at the last of each year. His help was the key to us continuing on. George was a founding member of the club in 1947 and was our beginning senior coach from 1947 1950. This era proved to be the clubs most successful, with six senior and two junior premierships. 1961 Our second year in B Grade was a vast with a top of the list result.
